Fine quality water from is essential for whisky making, but the process of barrel aging is an important procedure for us as well. It is with this combination that The Mitsui Mizunara oak is born. A single malt whisky distilled in the rich, natural environment of Tottori and aged in Mizunara (Japanese oak) casks. Combined with the bitter flavor of unblended whisky, a faintly sweet, aged aroma tickles the nose with a smooth yet rich, lingering aftertaste.

This 100% malt whisky is blended and aged at least 3 years in ex-bourbon barrels by Kurayoshi Distillery. Proofed with the famously soft ground waters of Tottori Prefecture’s Mount Daisen and bottled without additives or coloring, this is a fantastic introduction to the Japanese whisky flavor profile. The texture is soft, and the nose fragrant. The flavor is reminiscent of nuts and dried figs, with a subtle kiss of vanilla.
